Sealed bids for INDUSTRIAL BUILDING MODIFICATION & EXPANSION will be received by the

TISHOMINGO COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, IUKA MISSISSIPPI until 10 a.m. on Tuesday, 02

May 2023, and then publicly opened and read aloud. Work shall be for furnishing all labor, materials

and equipment and performing all work necessary to complete the Project.

Contract documents, including drawings and specifications, may be examined at the office of Dean

McRae Engineering, Inc., located at 308 Grisham Street, Iuka, Mississippi. Bid documents are being

made available via original paper copy or electronically. Planholders are required to login or register

for an account at www.deanmcraeplans.com to view and order bid documents. All planholders are

required to have a valid email address for registration. Bid documents are non-refundable and must

Each bid submitted must be marked on the outside “Industrial Building Modification & Expansion”. Any bid

more than $50,000 must contain on the outside of the envelope the contractor’s current certificate of

responsibility number, and no bid shall be opened or considered unless this number appears on the outside

of the envelope or unless a statement is included on the outside of the envelope indicating that the bid

enclosed does not exceed $50,000.

In the letting of public contracts, preference shall be given to resident contractors, and a nonresident bidder

domiciled in a state having laws granting preference to local contractors shall be awarded Mississippi public

contracts only on the same basis as the nonresident bidder’s state awards contracts to Mississippi contractors

bidding under similar circumstances; and resident contractors actually domiciled in Mississippi, be they

corporate, individuals, or partnerships, are to be granted preference over nonresidents in awarding of

contracts in the same manner and to the same extent as provided by the laws of the state of domicile of the

nonresident. When a nonresident contractor submits a bid for a public project, he shall attach thereto a copy

of his resident state’s current law pertaining to such state’s treatment of nonresident contractors. Any bid

submitted by a nonresident contractor which does not include the nonresident contractor's current state law

shall be rejected and not considered for award.

A pre-bid conference will not be held, however, all bidders are highly encouraged to visit and inspect the site.

The overall scope of work consists of modification and expansion of an industrial building belonging to

Tishomingo County, MS as shown on the Contract Drawings. The modification includes demolition of existing

offices and dock equipment. The expansion consists of a 7,500 square foot building addition and a 360 square

foot utility room addition, including all associated electrical, mechanical, door hardware, etc.

A satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and an accepted Surety, a certified check, or bank draft

payable to TISHOMINGO COUNTY shall be submitted with each bid in an amount equal to five percent (5%)

of the total bid.

A Performance Bond and Payment Bond, each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract

price, with a corporate surety approved by the OWNER, will be required for the faithful performance of the

contract.

The right is reserved, as the TISHOMINGO COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS may require, to reject any, or all,

bids and to waive any informality in the bids received.

Bids may be held up to 60 days from the date of opening for review of bids and qualifications of bidders prior

to Contract award.
